Avatar 2 2016

Last January, director James Cameron revealed he is planning to release Avatar 2 in December 2014, and Avatar 3 in December 2015. It seems that timetable has moved up a bit, since producer Jon Landau revealed that Avatar 2 won’t be ready until 2016. Here’s an excerpt from the article.

“According to Landau , the first sequel is ‘four years away.’ So that’s 2016 by a literal count, though we could be bendy and assume that Christmas 2015 would also be an option. Expect Avatar 3 a year later, as the performance capture and cinematography would take place back-to-back with the second film.”

We also reported in September that James Cameron wants to shoot Avatar 2 at 60 frames per second, as opposed to the industry standard 24 frames per second. Jon Landau revealed that James Cameron is committed to the higher frame rate.

“Landau promised that Avatar 2 was going to showcase advanced technology, from the 3D camera system used to the CG and performance capture, but also in terms of a higher framerate. This, he says, is the new frontier that he and Cameron are most interested in pushing.”

Avatar 2014

How many movies make $2 billion at the box office? Few…, so it was only obvious that Fox would push director James Cameron for an Avatar 2. According to news reports Cameron has apparently worked out the story for three films already.

James Cameron is planning to shoot some footage seven miles underwater in the Challenger Deep, the deepest point of the Mariana Trench and also the deepest location on earth. The pressure at such a depth would be over 8 tons per square inch – far beyond the capabilities of even the most advanced Russian military subs, which can handle only 1,600 pounds per square inch.

Rumors that Cameron and Fox are going to use the enormous Avatar profits to bankroll the space program to find an ocean-covered planet to film Avatar 2 The Abyss are as yet unfounded. But it would explain why audiences will have to wait until 2014 for the movie . . .So avatar 2 will be in fact avatar 2014…

Avatar 2: The Abyss

Cameron really loves oceans, have you noticed that? Yah, in Avatar 2: The Abyss, you are going to see much more of the oceans and less of the jungle, if Mr. Cameron has anything to say about it. And since he can do whatever he wants with Avatar 2.0, we have to believe him. Here’s what Cameron had to say about the Avatar sequel:
“We created a broad canvas for the environment of film. That’s not just on Pandora, but throughout the Alpha Centauri AB system. And we expand out across that system and incorporate more into the story – not necessarily in the second film, but more toward a third film. I’ve already announced this, so I might as well say it:
Part of my focus in the second film is in creating a different environment – a different setting within Pandora. And I’m going to be focusing on the ocean on Pandora, which will be equally rich and diverse and crazy and imaginative, but it just won’t be a rain forest. I’m not saying we won’t see what we’ve already seen; we’ll see more of that as well.”

“We’re working on finishing an additional six minutes of the film — which includes a lot of Weta work — for a theatrical re-release in August. We were sold out of our Imax performances right up to the moment until they were contractually obligated to switch to Alice in Wonderland, so we know we left money on the table there. And the 3-D really helped Avatar right up until the moment that it avatar2-the-abyss-2011

hurt it. And it hurt it at the moment Alice and then How to Train Your Dragon and Clash of the Titans came in and sucked up all the 3-D screens.

We went from declining 8% a week to declining 50%. Clearly, it wasn’t market forces directly; it was the availability of theaters. So we’re going to wait until there’s a time to come back in, inject the new footage into the mix and see if we can interest people in the Avatar experience in theaters.”

Avatar 2 will be like The Abyss on Pandora….

Avatar 2 – 200 million budget

James Cameron has not given any specific details about what the Avatar 2 movie would be about, but we know for sure that the movie will be out before December 2012, and the budget will be around 200mil $ . However, Cameron has hinted that sequels to Avatar might explore additional moons in the star system where the Pandora moon is located. It is a time honored tradition for Cameron to place his own unique signature on subsequent sequel films.

Avatar 2 movie is coming

Avatar movie sequel will come with more action and more sci-fi, so, you will see (sooner rather than later – wee hope) AVATAR 2 !!!. But when? Apparently Cameron isn’t in a rush to do it because Avatar 2009 is still making a lot of money..   It is more than clear that Fox plans to keep Avatar running in theaters as long as possible, Murdoch says that once it’s out of theaters, the DVD version will show up “soon after.”  Until 2011 or 2012, when Avatar 2 will be released,  you’ll have Avatar on DVD to watch over and over and over again until your friends forget about you, and your father kick you out his basement. I am afraid we won’t see 3D DVD in the next few months, the technology for it just isn’t quite there yet. Besides, why release Avatar 3D DVD right off the bat when you can force people to buy the movie twice with two separate releases? Fox love your money.. As soon as the Avatar 2 trailer will be released you will watch it here.
